Gyms Near You!
Gyms Near You! is a site which shows you a map of the UK, locating all the gyms nearest to you. If you select a gym, the five nearest alternatives are shown. You can also filter the map by selecting a chain from the dropdown list.
Currently, health and fitness clubs from brands like Bannatyne's, L.A. Fitness, Fitness First and Virgin Active are included on the map, but Local Authority leisure centres will be coming soon!
The app should work on iPhone as well, and will make use of the HTML 5 Geolocation feature to automatically zoom into a map which shows the nearest gyms to your current position
The site was built as an experiment to try out a few technologies, namely: App Engine, Fusion Tables, Google Maps API, Maxmind GeoIP and Bootstrap.
This privacy policy sets out how Gyms Near You uses and protects any information that you give when you use this website. In short, the site does not collect any personally identifying information about you, unless you contact us directly.
If you contact Gyms Near You via email or using the contact form we will store your email address in case we need to contact you about your comments. We will never send you promotional emails, and will not sell or pass on your contact details to a third party.
Gyms Near You also collects information about your visits to the site, for analytical purposes. This information cannot be used to identify you personally, but includes your location, language preference, web browser, operating system, details of the pages on the site you visit and the time and date of your visit. If you don’t want to reveal this information when visiting the site, you can opt out.
